Rapid inflationary conditions have caused budget shortfalls for many CEI member and affiliate faculty. This is due to the discrepancy of available funding from fixed external contracts issued years prior and current postdoctoral research salaries. To address this issue and acknowledge the vital role of postdoctoral trainees in research, innovation, community engagement, and workforce development – especially in rapidly advancing areas like clean energy where developing core competencies takes significant time – CEI plans to provide a limited number of “Postdoctoral Gap Supplements”. These awards are fixed at $10K per postdoc. Requests are limited to 2 per research group.
In the event that more awards are requested than funding is available, more information may be requested from applicants, and the amount per award may be reduced, particularly for groups requesting multiple awards.
Eligibility
Postdoctoral trainees working on projects relevant to the work of the UW Clean Energy Institute that have been in their postdoctoral appointment at University of Washington for 36 months or less.
Deadline
9/8/2023
