A Tiny Tool with Great Potential
2016 Clean Energy Fellow Ehsan Nasr Esfahani and 2014 Fellow Amadreza Eshghinejad have published a paper with Peiqi Wang, Shuhong Xie, Timothy C. Geary, and CEI Faculty Stuart Adler and Jiangyu Li in the Journal of Applied Physics.
The team describes a new nanoscale probe that detect ions and electronic defects using a heated cantilever that feels the material by causing tiny vibrations. This technique will allow researchers to study electrochemical systems and improve battery materials.
