Summer Research Experiences for Educators at WA Two-Year and Tribal Colleges
The Clean Energy Research Experience for Teachers program is for local community and tribal college educators who have the goal of integrating clean energy research into their curriculum. Instructors are immersed in a research lab where they concentrate on learning a technique. Participants translate the research into a lab that can be used at their home institutions with minimal equipment capability.
This program provides a stipend of $8,000.
In Summer 2025, CEI is partnering with the UW UPWARDS program to support research focused on semiconductors. Instructors in the UPWARDS RET Program will have the chance to take part in cutting-edge research related to designing and making computer chips, working closely with a professor and their research team on a small, easy-to-understand project. We hope this work, which may involve using a cleanroom on campus at the University of Washington in Seattle, will help inspire new curriculum related to the digital age of computers.
